Note 1: On the baptism record of November 10, 1743, this child of Jean-François Lorrain & Marie-Anne Lauzon is named Alexis Lorrain. By proof by presumption, his other adopted name is Antoine. This is based on the following facts:
- The marriage record of Antoine Lorrain & Marie-Françoise Provost indicates that the parents of Antoine are Jean-François Lorrain & Marie-Anne Lauzon.
- The burial record of Alexis Lorrain in May 1798 indicates that his wife is Françoise Provost and that he died at the age of 55 years old. This implies that he was born around 1743, which is the same year of birth as Alexis Lorrain.
All this data suggest that Alexis Lorrain and Antoine Lorrain are the same person.
